From 7 October 2011 – 19 February 2012, the National Museum of Scotland will host the new exhibition Admiral Cochrane, The Real Master and Commander. The exhibition will explore the life and times of Admiral Lord Thomas Cochrane, bringing his remarkable story to life. On display will be an extraordinary collection of personal possessions and dramatic paintings – a hoard of treasures that have never before been seen together. Admission is free throughout this year.

The Gathering 2009 was held July 25-27 in Edinburgh Scotland. This worldwide clan gatthering was held in conjunction with the World Championship Heavyweight Scottish Games.
